Love Me A Good Mystery

I sure do love me a good mystery novel. At the book sale I picked up this gem and finisthed it last night. It's definitely a page turner and keeps you on your toes. It has some adult language and situations so keep it away from the kids. But it's setting is in the 1880's so it's not too riscay. Anyway, I really enjoyed this read.

Cranberry Cousins

Has anyone been to the awesome book sale in the building that Honks used to occupy? It's pretty awesome. You should check it out, but hurry, I think it ends the first week of April.
Anyway, I bought ten books for eleven dollars and this book was one of them. It is probably in the top five of cheesiest books I have ever read. I'm guessing the age group it is meant for is around the age of ten. However, even though it was extremely corny, I couldn't help but smile when I read it. Have you ever had roommate drama? Or lived with people that you could just absolutely not tolerate? This book reminded me of all those less than lovely roommates that color my past. I have had some interesting roommates folks. Anyway, if you are in the mood for some cheese, and memories of your quirky weird roommates, then this is the book for you!

Apart

This last weekend Justin and I came down to Fruit Heights to celebrate my sisters birthday and go to the bowling tournament. While we were here my mom was very very sick, I mean like deathly sick. She could barely lift her head from the pillow and she just felt awful. Justin and I decided that it would be best if I stayed here for the week to help carpool my brother and sister around, with meals, cleaning, laundry, basically take over as momma for a while until she got feeling better. It's been a long week. And not so much because of all the crazy running around that I have been doing, but because as weird as this may sound, I miss my hubby! This is the longest I have been away from him since we got married, and even though it is only four days, it seems like its been forever! I know that may sound weird, but seriously, I had no idea how hard it was going to be to be away from him! He is driving up here tonight for my cousins wedding tomorrow and I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am to see him! I'm just gonna throw my arms around him and give him a big wet sloppy kiss haha! And the sweet part is, is that he is totally missing me too! Cute. I think that means we are in love. Sigh. Love is great.

A Somewhat Lengthy Update

Hey there! It's been a while, yes? Well have no fear, Kristi is here!

Not a whole lot has changed in the Palmer household. We have officially been married for five months now (I think Justin may deserve an award for surviving me for that long). I can't even believe how fast time has gone, especially when you're happily married to your best friend! I am still looking for a job. Big Ugh! I had a job interview last week, but it didn't go anywhere and I was pretty bummed out. I really really really want a job, but so far I am having little success. I'm sure that part of the reason is that I am being picky. I have been through SO MANY JOBS in Logan and I just want this job to stick. Honestly, I hate retail. I know that those kind of jobs are just not meant for me. I never last. But who knows. Maybe one day I'll get desperate enough and have to settle for a crummy, low paying, crappy boss, whining people, terrible hours and work conditions, no good for nothing, terrible, horrible job. (I haven't hit that desperate yet...but it may be getting close). In other news Justin and I were called to be Den Leaders in the scouts. We are over the wolves, and only have two boys. So far it's been a fun calling. I can tell it's going to be A LOT OF WORK, but I'm glad I have my hubby for a partner in this exciting new adventure! We still love our apartment, HATE our neighbors. And are still plugging along at the gym the best we can, Justin is having a lot more sucess than I am in that department, but I do my best. Hmmm. That's all I can think of for now. Here's a few media updates:

Good Books:

"The Book Thief", ah, where do I begin? My older sister recommended this book to me. I guess one of the main themes of this book is the power of words, and I find myself at a loss of words at how amazing this book is. Some words that come to mind; Love. Hate. Hitler. Jew. Books. Knowledge. Family. Hope. Death... Read it. You'll love it.

This book is one of those kid kind of adventures. It's funny. Lighthearted. And just plain good writing. I finished it in a day. If you're looking for something that's not so serious, just a fun fast read, then I would recommend this book.

MOVIES:
I have recently seen two movies that were worth passing on.
1. "We Bought a Zoo"- You know how they say you can't judge a book by its cover? Well same goes for movies and titles, and this movie is proof that lame titles can bring about great movies. I was kind of shocked with how much I enjoyed this movie. And the little girl in it! Oh my goodness! She seriously is so adorable and she just makes the entire movie worth watching! You should check it out!

2. "The Vow" - Hmmm. Not exactly sure how I feel about this movie. I think I liked it. It's one of those movies that's worth seeing at least once so that you can judge for yourself ya know? There were some really amazing moments in that movie, I just think I was a little disappointed with the ending, but you know, it's based off a real story so... anyway... watch it and see for yourself!

Well that's all for now. We are currently spending the weekend in Fruit Heights for my sister's birthday and the Utah state bowling tournament. (Justin did pretty good today so send him some good luck vibes for tomorrow!)Happy sunny weekend everyone!

The Divine Calling of Motherhood

It's late. I need to be in bed right now, but the pull to write is stronger than the pull of my night time meds, so .... here I am. T...
