The Many Adventures of the Three Musketeers

Every time Emily, Kylie and I are together we always manage to have some sort of grand adventure. This weekend the three of us decided to go camping. It was a blast and a half. We decided we didn't want to waste any money on gas so we drove about five miles into Logan canyon and found the prettiest campsite. We got there kind of late so had to set up the tent in the dark, which was our first adventure of the trip seeing as I had never used my tent before.

Adventure number two happened while we were eating dinner around the campfire. We are sitting there and all of a sudden we hear this "crunch crunch. nibble nibble. crunch." We start looking for the source of the sound and conclude that there is some kind of animal in the bushes behind us. We try to scare it off but never see it so we go back to eating dinner. (Keep in mind that after we hear this noise, Kylie and Emily get more chips.) So then we hear it again. Crunch nibble crunch. Emily says that she thinks she saw the bag of chips move a little, but then we just decide that it's the bag untwisting itself. Nope. I look back and the bag gives this huge lurch. I jump to my feet, with Emily and Kylie right behind me. Kylie picks up a rock and chucks it at the bag of chips and we see this mouse run out of there. We started freaking out. We sneak up to the bag and poke and prod at it making sure there was nothing else in there. Luckily there wasn't. But how gross! Especially because Kylie and Emily ate the chips after we heard the noise the first time! Ewww!

Our third adventure was much less exciting but still somewhat intense. It happened while we were sleeping. I woke up to hear something walking through our campground. It sounded like it was right next to our tent. When we woke up the next morning there were two huge piles of different kinds of poo right in our campsite. Which means we had TWO large animals only a few feet away from us. Scary!

The rest of the day was not as full of adventure but it was still a lot of fun. We all took a nap around the campfire and I read Harry Potter. We played Quiddler. And then we went on a walk and found this really cool amphitheater with scary rooms underneath it. We also saw the biggest rabbit I have ever seen. And lastly, we found this trail and went on a hike which was absolutely gorgeous. We were all tired by the end of the hike but I am glad we went on it.

It was a really fun weekend and it makes me want to go camping again and again and again.

I can't believe the three of you were left alone in the woods over night. That thought alone is a scary one.
