!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In case you couldn't tell from the title, I am a bit excited today. You see, I just landed my DREAM job as a librarian! About the middle of August was when things with my coworkers started really getting bad and I decided to be proactive and look for another job. I went to every city in Cache Valley's website searching for library jobs because that is where I have wanted to work for ages! And it paid off. Hyrum City Library was hiring so I ran my resume up there. The job was open until September 7'th so I knew I had a while to wait. Well, September 7'th came and went and I was sure that I hadn't gotten it. I had put it completely out of my mind when I received a call from them asking me to interview. I was freaking out excited while trying to tell myself to calm down and not get my hopes up (yeah right). The interview... was... less than perfect. There was a guy and a girl interviewing me and the guy was kind of a grump. They told me that they had tons of people apply and that they had been doing interviews all day long and they were exhausted from them. So by the time they got to me they were sick of interviews. I honestly felt like Katniss when she is trying to show off what she can do to the judges but they have watched so many people before her that they are bored, only, I couldn't shoot an apple out of a pigs mouth to impress my interviewers like she did. Anyway, I came home and cried knowing that I had blown it. Much to my surprise, I got a call the next day asking for a second interview. What the?! Yay! The second interview went much better. It was just the girl this time and I thought I did awesome (not to toot my horn or anything though). I was still really nervous though because she told me that she had it narrowed down to four people and she was having the hardest time deciding between them. However, I knew that I had done my best and wouldn't have any regrets, which is always a good feeling. She told me that I would hear from her within 24 hours about her decision. I was sweating bullets. So yesterday I hadn't heard from her by the time I got off of work (never a good sign) so I called her up to ask if she had made a decision. She had. I didn't get the job. And if that didn't hurt she also told me that I had made it to the final two but the other girl had library experience. I was crushed. I couldn't believe that I was one person away from my dream job. I was sooo close. I allowed myself exactly two tears in the arms of Justin and then I pulled myself together and decided to get over it.

But don't worry. It has a happy ending remember? Today I got a call back from the librarian saying that it didn't work out with the other girl and that the job was mine. Ahhhhhhh! I don't know what happened with the other girl, all she said was, "Well, I guess everything happens for a reason right?", but I am so excited! She is seriously one of the nicest people I have ever met and I am really happy to be working for her. She even is okay with me finishing the days that I am scheduled for at the hotel because I didn't want to leave them hanging. So what does this mean for me? Well.....

Upcoming Movies

I am such a movie buff! I love going to the movies, I love buying movies, I even love looking up movie trailers and watching them on youtube. Here are a few movies that I am looking forward to:

The Perks of Being a Wallflower. You know what a Harry Potter fan I am which means that I love Emma Watson. This looks like a great, loving life, kind of movie. I can't wait to see it!

Taken was a movie that came out a few years ago based on true events of a girl being kidnapped and sold and forced to become a sex slave, which unfortunately happens every day. They are making a sequel and I think it looks awesome!

This is another book turned movie by Stephanie Meyer. Unlike Twilight, The Host is an amazing, amazing book! I have read it quite a few times and am so so so excited for this movie! I just hope they got better actors than the last fiasco with Twilight. (I think they did).

Yes! These little yellow minions are back! Woot Woot!

Step aside children! I have been waiting 12 years for Mike and Sully to return!

And last, but certainly not least, Les Miserables. I know I have written about this before, but I am still beyond thrilled and my heart still pounds out of my chest every single time I watch this trailer and think about how I will be sitting in a theater watching this masterpiece of a musical very soon! Yay!

Well, that's all I know of for now. If you know of any other movies that are coming out that YOU are dying to see let me know so I can check them out!

Jeeping

On Saturday we had a ward activity where the bishop took us on a jeep ride through parts of Logan Canyon. It was so beautiful! The fall colors are popping out everywhere. We went off-roading to Ephraim's grave (Ephraim is a large grizzly bear that was more than nine feet tall) and drove on some pretty rough roads that had amazing views. We ended up at Hardware Ranch where we ate lunch. It was kind of funny because Justin and I were the youngest couple there and the majority of the group were older than fifty. We had a lot of fun though. There is one lady in particular, her name is May and I bet she is at least in her seventies, if not eighties, who was such a spitfire. I just love her. We were waiting in line for the bathroom and she comes out of the outhouse and heaves a great big sigh. I asked her if she sighed because it stunk in there so bad and she was taking a deep breath of fresh air. She replied with, "Oh it stunk in there pretty bad but I was sighing because my bladder just said- 'Thank the Lord!'- I had to pee so bad!" hahaha I was dying! She is such a hoot! I hope we become best friends!

Anyway, Justin and I had so much fun and the views were so beautiful that we are thinking of making that trip an annual thing. It honestly felt like we were out in the middle of nowhere. There is so much peace found in nature like that, especially up in the mountains during autumn. Here are some of the pictures that I took.

The stone is how tall Ephraim was. Compared to us he was HUGE! I would have peed my pants if I had seen a bear that large!

Showerless Home Adventures

Thursday night I took a shower, and went to the downstairs bathroom to blow dry my hair, only to find a big fatty flood. The entire bathroom had two inches of water covering the floor. I threw down some towels, soaked them all, and then threw down some more, and hurried to tell husband. Well, five days, no water in the house, and a plumber later we have come to the conclusion that we will have to dig up our front yard and replace all of the pipes. The tree in the front yard, the one I love so much, is getting into our pipes and blocking the drains with its roots. We can flush the toilets and wash our hands but we have had to go to my in-laws to shower and we can't wash our dishes- in the dishwasher or the sink- because it requires too much water at one time. We have been calling all over to get some estimated prices and we figured out that  we are going to save virtually thousands of dollars if we do it ourselves.

Sooo.... we are going to pretend like we are Stanley Yelnats and start digging some holes on Saturday. If anyone would like to help us we would greatly greatly appreciate it! We are hoping to get enough help that the job will go fairly quickly. The more manpower that we have the better! And of course, lunch will be on us! Let me know if you would be willing to help, we would love you forever!

Trying... but Failing

Today I have been trying really hard to have a good day. I'm trying to be upbeat and positive. Trying to keep a smile on my face. Trying. But Failing.

Remember how I have that coworker who is doing naughty things on the computer? Yeah well, he hasn't stopped, which makes me absolutely dread coming to work after him. I have zero respect for him. Well today on the way to work I ran into some construction traffic which was making me run a tad late. A tad meaning that I was supposed to be to work at 7 and walked into the office at 7:03. Well, when I got here, that coworker was nowhere in sight. Because I was a total of three minutes late, he up and left without waiting for me. The problem with that is, is that we have been assigned to "communicate with the next shift about anything that is going on in the hotel". I also have to count the cash drawer and verify it with the previous shift. So him leaving without talking to me is a big deal. Well, I called him on his cell phone to make sure that everything was alright and to see where he went to. We had a heated conversation, on his part, and then he freaking hung up on me. Wow. That was a mature conversation. I guess he forgot to put on his adult pants today.

After that I was trying to shake if off and forget about the whole ordeal, when a message from his lover popped up onto my computer asking me who I was and if I was in love with her boyfriend. I didn't even give the whore the satisfaction by responding, but still, none of these things is how I wanted to start my day.

And then comes the porn. I saw some stuff in the recycle bin on the computer desktop and went to delete it and BAM! A whole bunch of naked! So I then have to have the uncomfortable task of reporting it to my manager. Boy is that a fun conversation to have!

And last but not least, as if I am not discouraged about my coworkers already, I found out from one of the housekeepers that one of my other coworkers (not the creeper but a different guy) has been talking crap about me behind my back and complains about me to her all of the time. He says that I am dumb and always mess everything up and he wishes that he didn't have to work with me. What a great boost to my ego right? The thing that irritates me about this in particular is that I generally liked working with this coworker. He kept to himself, was clean, and seemed nice enough. But he hardly ever spoke to me. I figured it was because he was shy or just quiet but maybe it was because he didn't like me. On the other hand, maybe what the housekeeper said wasn't even true she is just creating needless drama. Either way, I was hurt by it. And am now feeling suspicious of everyone.

So as of right now, I am sitting at the desk, wondering why in the hell I am working with these people, for the amount of pay that I get? If I have to deal with all of this drama, I think I deserve to be paid more for it.  I honestly hate the tension that has snuck into the workplace. It makes me cranky. I really honestly sincerely woke up this morning thinking to myself that this was going to be a good day. I am so sick of my coworkers. They are making this job, which is a pretty good job work wise, virtually unbearable. I hate hating my job. I hate waking up in the mornings and dreading coming to work. I hate sitting at work anticipating my days off.
It's days like this that make me regret dropping out of college. I mean, does this happen everywhere? Are there people out there that actually love what they do? Who look forward to going to work? Who are friends with their coworkers? Cause if so, then I need a job like that!

Bad Morning Turn Around

My morning routine usually goes like this:
-Alarm goes off and hit snooze a few dozen times.
-Wake up
-Let Zorro out into the yard and prop the door open so that he can get back in
-Shower
-Go back into room to find that Zorro has returned and is now back in bed fast asleep
-Close door
-etc

Well this morning when I got out of the shower Zorro hadn't come back yet. So I finished getting ready and as I was headed out the door I remembered that I hadn't seen Zorro yet. The next half hour consisted of me calling his name, calling work telling them I would be late, driving around the block looking for him, calling Justin at work, crying that I couldn't find my dog and that I was now extremely late for work, and basically having one huge anxiety attack. He always came back. Always. I finally had to leave for work because I was already twenty minutes late, and made things even worse by picturing him laying in the road hit by a car. I got to work and went in the back office and prayed and cried. I watched the clock and called Justin when he got off work, but of course hearing his voice set me off into tears again. Wow, what is wrong with me? He told me everything would be alright and that he would find him. Ten minutes later he text me and said that he called out Zorro's name and he came running (that little stinker!). I was so relieved that he was home safe. But I am also really mad at the little brat. How dare he put me through that?! I guess I have become way more attached to Zorro then I thought. Even though it's only been a little more than a month, I sure do love that dog!

Whew. It was definitely a rough morning. As I was trying to focus on work and forget the traumatic events of the morning my amazingly sweet husband walked in the doors with a big smile on his face. Just seeing him lifted my mood. Luckily there wasn't anyone at the front desk and I got to talk to him for a bit. He told me how Zorro came running to him and seemed completely fine and happy to see him. It's probably good I wasn't there because Zorro most likely would have received a spanking followed swiftly by a big hug and more tears. Instead Zorro came home to Justin who played frisbee with him. What a lucky dog. And what a lucky girl I am to have such an amazing husband that will put off sleep to come comfort his erratic wife.

Another thing that put me in a better mood this morning is this funny site: click here. If you aren't smiling by the end of this than there is something wrong with you- just kidding. But it did make me smile- so hopefully it brightens your day a little bit too!

Job...Gross: Sweaty Bikers

Has anyone seen the Gilmore Girl's episode with the sweaty bikers? In this episode there is a bike race going through Stars Hollow which brings a lot of cyclist guests to Lorelai's inn. Michel, the front desk French guy, gets super annoyed that all of the overly sweaty cyclists are sitting on the furniture and leaning against the walls while they are dripping in sweat. It's been a while since I have seen this episode but I am pretty sure that he goes around and sprays everything that the sweaty people touch.

Well, guys. This is my life right now. This weekend in Logan the bike race from Logan to Jackson Hole, called the LOTOJA, is happening. Our hotel is completely full of cyclists- all wearing their little outfits and sweating profusely. This morning a group of cyclists met in the lobby and some of them were talking about how they had just finished a 50 mile ride and were talking about how they were hot and sweaty. One of them is sitting on our couch, the other on our coffee table! Sick. Who does that??!!! I seriously am thinking of going to grab some sanitizing spray from housekeeping and giving our furniture a good douse. It's super disgusting.

Wanna hear something even more nasty? We had a guest sit on the side of the bed, and poop his pants. And no, not a child, but an adult! The poop ran all the way down the side of the bed- covering the sheets and comforter- and then proceeded to run all over the carpet. Needless to say- I am super overjoyed right now that I am NOT a housekeeper!

People are officially grossing me out today!

I Can Show You the World

Well folks we are home. It was such a fun vacation! Here's the play by play:

Sunday: After church Justin and I drove down to Fruit Heights where we had my favorite homemade dinner prepared by my mom- it was so yummy. Aint nothing like a momma's cooking am I right? After dinner we opened presents. I was of course spoiled like crazy! I got some perfume, The Hunger Games Movie, the first season of I Love Lucy, some nail polish, a gift card to Barnes and Noble, Bob Marley headphones, and a gift card to RC Willey so that I can get a new dish washer (huzzah!). After the presents we had my favorite dessert. One thing you should know about me is that I almost NEVER have cake on my birthday. My top three birthday desserts are: Cheesecake, my mom's oreo ice cream dessert, and my mom's pistachio pudding dessert. This year I chose the pistachio one. Yummmm. I don't know why I haven't learned to make it yet- probably because if I did I would eat it everyday of my life haha. After that we broke open Hunger Games dvd and watched it with the fam, half of which have never seen it before so it was a treat. The best was when my dad and brother got scared and hid under their blankets during the dog part haha. What sissies! Anyway, I just wanted to thank my family for making my birthday so special. Thanks mom for doing all of that cooking and baking! Thanks Cassie for all of the decorations! It was so nice of you to sew balloons together just for me! And thanks to the rest for the awesome presents! You guys are the best!

Monday: We left Zorro at my parents house and hit the open road. It's a long drive. A long, long drive. And unfortunately for us, it was also an expensive drive. Dang you Fillmore cop haha. So after the long drive we had a few hours to kill in St. George before Aladdin started. We decided to hit the outlets and then go to dinner at the Brick Oven. After dinner we headed to the Tuacahn to see Aladdin. Wow guys. It was awesome! There were awesome special effects! Everyone's voice was amazing, and the genie was hilarious! This show goes through the middle of October and they said they have tickets left so if you can find the time to go I would highly recommend it!! I think everyone needs to experience this outdoor theater at least once in their lives. The only problem is, is that once you go you'll want to keep going back because it is just that amazing! So after the show we headed to Beaver Dam. My grandparents have a trailer there (like one of those permanent ones) that they were kind enough to let us stay in.

Tuesday: In the morning we got some McDonald's for breakfast and ate it in front of the TV. And then we took a nap. A nice long, long nap. Cause we are getting old ya know? When we woke up we headed to Mesquite and found a 50's diner that was really cute and had lunch. After lunch we decided that we were five years old and we went to the arcade where we played air hockey, skee ball, had a car race, had a shoot out with some cowboys, and played all of the other arcade games. Gee its fun to be a kid! We then decided that none of the prizes would do us any good so we made a little boy very happy when we handed over all of our tickets to him. We then decided to go bowling. My first game I got a 142 and was very proud of myself. My second game definitely went downhill but at least I broke a hundred. It was fun. After bowling we decided to be naughty and hit up the casino. We each had five dollars and went to the one cent machines. And we lost all of our money haha. But it's okay, it was fun in the process. There was one exciting moment where I won $10.50, but then it went downhill from there. I definitely should have quit when I was ahead. One thing I noticed though was that everyone around us looked like Zombies. They just kept dumping their money into those machines- what a sad addiction. Anyway, moving on before I jump onto that soap box. We were going to go see a movie but none of the theaters were showing anything that we were dying to see so instead we grabbed some Little Caesars, The Three Stooges from Redbox, and went back to Beaver Dam and had us a nice little cozy movie night.

Wednesday: On the road again. We stopped in Nephi to have lunch at the train diner and went to Syracuse to buy us a washing machine. I can't wait to get it and have much cleaner dishes!! We picked up Zorro and headed home. What a super fun getaway! Thanks Justin for everything! You're the best hubby ever!!

Va-Cay

If you remember- we went away for Justin's birthday this year- he picked a car junk yard. Well friends, tomorrow is MY birthday and we are headed to St. George after spending a night in Fruit Heights. Justin bought me tickets to Aladdin at the Tuacahn Outdoor Theater and I couldn't be more excited! We have been so busy this summer with all of the changes in our lives that lengthy amounts of quality time together have been hard to come by. I definitely need this alone time with Justin. I can't wait! A new post and pictures when we get back! Bon Voyage!
