Christmas 2010

This was a great Christmas!

On Christmas Eve we went to my grandpa's house in Hooper. We followed our usual tradition with dinner, presents, singing, and reading from the bible.

Christmas morning came and there was the mad rush of opening presents. I am such a spoiled little girl! My big gift this year was a new camera! Oh Yeah! I am way excited that I don't have to steal all of my roommates, friends, and families pictures anymore. As you very well may know, I am a Facebook picture up-loader junkie! I also got some movies, tv seasons, books (happy reading to me!), money, and a whole lot of other stuff as well. I am thinking I might look into getting a new phone with my money, because now that my mom finally has a new phone, mine is the oldest in the family. (I've had it for four years now, which is an all time new record for me!)

This year for Christmas Day, instead of us all driving to Preston, we had the party at my house in Fruit Heights. It was super nice not to have to drive such a long ways Christmas Day. It was a lot of fun and the food was a little TOO good if you know what I mean! :)

After the party everyone took nice long naps. And then that night I watched my new movie - "Despicable Me"- with my mommy. Um.... if you have not seen that movie, there is something seriously missing in your life. I can't even handle how funny it is! PLEASE go watch it! You won't regret it I promise!

I hope you all had an amazing holiday! If you are reading this know that I love you and I am grateful for you! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Family Christmas Card...

Every year my family does a crazy awesome Christmas card. This year I think we have out done ourselves. Blog worthy? I think so! :) ..... I don't have the actual Christmas card, so I will just show you the pictures that went into the collage and the poem that went along with it. Here goes....

Every Wright in Fruit Heightville liked Christmas a lot
But the Grinch who just lived North of Fruit Heightville did not!
The Grinch hated Christmas! The whole Christmas season!
Now please don’t ask why, no one quite knows the reason.

The Grinch contemplated Christmas with a sneer
“Tomorrow is Christmas! It’s practically here!”
Then he growled with his Grinch fingers nervously drumming
“I must find some way to stop Christmas from coming!”

“Why for fifty years I’ve put up with it now!
I must stop this Christmas from coming! But how?”
Then he got an idea! An awful idea!
The Grinch got a wonderful, awful idea!

The Grinch decided to steal Christmas, and you know the tale
He took all their presents, in hopes of hearing Wrights wail.
But that old Grinch’s plan was foiled
For the Wrights would not let their Christmas be spoiled!

And the Grinch puzzled three hours, till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before.
“Maybe Christmas”, he thought, “doesn’t come from a store.
Maybe Christmas”, he thought…”Means a little bit more!”

Hoping your Christmas “Means a little bit more!”
Merry Christmas!
Love,
The Wright Family

The WRIGHT Place

On Friday night I spur of the moment decided to drive to Preston, Idaho to visit my grandparents and spend the night with them. I have been feeling guilty lately that it's been so long since I have seen them. I called them before hand to make sure that it was OK, and they just laughed at me for even asking. I love grandparents. I think they are the only people on the Earth that can make you feel THAT welcomed!

When I got there I was instantly bombarded with offers of diet coke, food, and Grandma's home made chocolates. (I said yes to the chocolates!) We then watched the Jazz game together. Watching basketball games with Grandma is always quite an experience! She gets so into it and she starts swearing up a storm! She is hilarious! She also comments on who she thinks is attractive, which players annoy her, and of course gives her own opinions on how the team should be run. It was so much fun!

After the game we sat around and talked for a while and then we were all exhausted so went to bed early. (Early for me. Late for them). When I went downstairs they had plugged in a heater in my room for me, set out a towel and washcloth, and had my favorite blanket ready and waiting. If you have not been pampered by Phil and Bonnie Wright, then you do not know what luxury is! They are so amazing!

That night I slept better than I have in such a long time! It's probably because their house is so clean and smells so good. Not to mention how quiet it is and the clean sheets definitely helped I'm sure! I bet the Wright home is way better than any five star hotel! Even their shower is amazing with its soft water and strong water pressure! I was totally loving my night away!

In the morning I had to work pretty early so I only had time to get ready, pack up, eat breakfast, and go. I wished I could have spent more time with them, but it was really nice to see them and get out of my apartment for a bit.

Well as for the rest of my weekend I just worked a lot. On Saturday night Emily and I went to the basketball game and got pizza which was a lot of fun. Other than that I studied for my finals --> One down, Three to go! I'm nervous. Pray for me! ;)

That's all for now. Peace out girl scout!

"So Quick Bright Things Come to Confusion"

Last night I had to go see USU's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream for both my Shakespeare and British Lit classes. I read the play twice this year, once for each class, and although I liked reading and analyzing it, nothing beats seeing the live performance!

The students of USU did such an amazing job! I absolutely loved this play! Everything was so great. The lights, costumes, actors, set, music, EVERYTHING! They are performing it again on Friday and Saturday night of this week, and if you have nothing to do I would highly reccomend going to this! It' super funny and FREE with your student ID! I was laughing so hard it was almost embarrassing!

The Divine Calling of Motherhood

It's late. I need to be in bed right now, but the pull to write is stronger than the pull of my night time meds, so .... here I am. T...
