Happy Halloween!

Trick Or Treat!
Smell My Feat!
Give Me Something Good to Eat!

Happy Halloween Everyone!!!

My Halloween this year totally rocked! I'll admit I didn't really do anything over the top exciting, but that's good for me because I am not a hardcore partier anyway.

Saturday morning:
-Slept In
-Cleaned my Apartment
-Made Sugar Cookies with my roommates while watching Disney's House of Mouse: Villains take Over. :)
-Got Ready for the Day and Into my Costume: (With the 'Goonies' playing in the background) I was a 'Loser' for Halloween this year. aka I dressed up in BYU clothes, wrote loser across my forehead, and the scores of the football games on my cheeks

Saturday Afternoon:
-Carved Pumpkins: Mine was Harry Potter! ('Casper' playing in background)
-Colored in Halloween Coloring Books ('Hocus Pocus' playing in background)
-Took Lots of Pictures

Saturday Night:
-Went to the first USU Basketball game of the season: SO MUCH FUN! AND WE WON!
-Ate Dinner at Fredricos. Oh My YUMMY!
-Decorated Sugar Cookies (Thanks Grandma Petersen for leaving us the BEST RECIPE EVER!!!)('Charlie Brown' playing in background)
-Ate said sugar cookies, candy, pop, and pumpkin seeds until I was almost sick!
-There was an attempt made to watch 'What Lies Beneath' but we were too hyper so we played Nightmare and Smurfing instead. Both games were pretty much hilarious.
-Sat up all night talking to friends
-Went to bed at 7:30am.

All activities above = One of the best Halloweens EVER!

Pictures to Come!

I blame D.W.

On Thursday I was watching Arthur (yes I still watch and LOVE that show!) and it was the Halloween one where D.W. gets the hiccups and no matter what she does, she can't get rid of them. Arthur makes her do all sorts of things that are scary, but still, the hiccups persist.

On Friday I got the hiccups SEVEN TIMES! It was starting to get ridiculous!

..... I blame D.W. hahahaha

By the Pricking of My Thumbs, Something Wicked This Way Comes

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble
Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the caldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing,—
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
Scale of dragon; tooth of wolf;
Witches' mummy; maw and gulf
Of the ravin'd salt-sea shark;
Root of hemlock digg'd i the dark;
Liver of blaspheming Jew;
Gall of goat, and slips of yew
Sliver'd in the moon's eclipse;
Nose of Turk, and Tartar's lips;
Finger of birth-strangled babe
Ditch-deliver'd by a drab,—
Make the gruel thick and slab:
Add thereto a tiger's chaudron,
For the ingrediants of our caldron.

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
Cool it with a baboon's blood,
Then the charm is firm and good.

Losing Faith in Humanity

Don't you hate when you have high expectations for something and then it turns into an epic fail? That's kind of how this weekend was for me.

Well, excluding Friday. Friday night was a lot of fun. We had this HUGE group go to the pumpkin walk and yeah. It was fun.

Saturday kind of sucked butt though. Saturday morning I came to the realization that most people are very selfish and self-centered. I can't even talk about it without becoming angry and disappointed in humanity all over again.

I spent all of Saturday afternoon curled into a ball feeling super sick, wishing that I could just throw-up and get it over with. Lame.

Saturday night we went to the hockey game. We were playing against BYU and so I was way excited for the game. A lot of my friends were going so three of us went super early to save a bunch of seats for everyone else. We didn't have a lot to save them with so I just put my purse in the middle of the saved ones and we would just tell people when they asked. Well this dad came with his little boy and sat down in our saved seats and my cousin Kylie goes over and tells them that they are saved. But he doesn't move. So I go over to talk to him. I tell him that they are saved and he is like, "Well there is nothing on these two and your friends are just going to have to find seats like I did." I told him that we had gotten there early specifically to save seats we just didn't have a ton of stuff to put on them. But he refused to move. What a good impression you are making for your son! He seriously was the biggest jerk on the planet! I could not even believe he was being so ridiculous. Finally the guy behind him pointed out that there was plenty of room on their row so they finally ended up moving, but oh my. What an A-hole (pardon my french). That guy just really pissed me off. I was already ticked off from the morning, feeling sick, and annoyed with some of my friends so it was just kind of the icing on the cake.

After the game we were supposed to meet another friend who had planned something, but he didn't even bother to show up or have the courtesy to let us know that he wasn't coming. It was rude of him, but at least I could just go home and go to bed and end this terrible rotten, no good for nothing, very bad day!

All I have to say is thank heavens we beat BYU that night cause if we hadn't I definitely would have cried!

Working Hard. Playing Harder.

Here is a quickie update on my life. I am loving school this semester. My classes rock. I am doing pretty good in school too. (Pretty sure I just aced my first Anthro of Religion test so I am pretty stoked about that.)

I am still working at the bug job and although my boss tells us that we will be running out of work soon, we haven't yet, so keep your fingers crossed for me!

After watching conference I realized the areas that I needed to work on in my life. I have fixed some relationships and am working on others. I love how conference always motivates me to fix the areas that need to be fixed. There were some really good reminders. I think my favorite was the talk that said the most important things you need to focus on are 1. Your relationship with Heavenly Father 2. Your relationship with your family 3. Your relationship with your fellowmen and 4. Your relationship with yourself. .... This is the talk I needed and this is what I am currently focusing on.

Alright. So that was the 'work' part of my life. As for the playing. Well. I am playing hard! Life is just so fantastic! For example: This past weekend was way fun. On Friday night I went to the hockey game with Kylie and Kylie's friend Lauren. Sadly, we lost. (I know! I was shocked too!) But it was still so much fun and I am still a hardcore hockey lover. Then on Saturday I went to the bug lab. This may not sound like play, but the way I did it, it totally was! I am not a fan of going to work on Saturday because the BNR (Biology and Natural Resources Building) is way creepy building anyway, but on Saturday's it is completely empty and very spooky. Especially because our lab is under the cadaver lab! EEK! But anyway, I needed hours so I went to work but brought my ipod speaker with me. Since there wasn't anyone there I blasted my music super loud and rocked out (and yes, even sang a little) while I sorted bugs. It was actually kind of fun. That night I went to the haunted corn maze with Amanda, Alex, Kylie and Lauren. It was scary but a total blast! Afterwards we went to Seven Elven for hot chocolate (because theirs is the best on the planet!) and went back to my apartment to watch Hocus Pocus. Eric and Leisha joined us for the movie so it was pretty much a party in my apartment! Sunday was a great day of church (of course!) and Sunday night's we have a weekly roommate bonding session and watch the new show on TLC, 'Sister Wives'. That show is addicting and oh so much fun to make fun of! Check it out. You won't be able to stop.

So yeah. That's my life in a nut-shell. School, Work, Friends, Roommates, but most importantly, HOCKEY! (Come to a game with me! Your life will never be the same!)

WWJD?

This message is something that I think everyone needs to hear. I don't want this to turn into a political debate, but in case you were wondering, this is where I stand on gay rights.....

I believe that marriage is sacred between a man and woman and this union is ordained of God. HOWEVER, I ALSO believe that I, being an insignificant human being, have NO RIGHT to tell someone who they can and cannot love. I believe God has the right, but I do not. I sincerely hope that my views do not go against that of the church. It is for that reason that I refuse to vote on gay issues. I do not want to go against the church, nor do I want to pretend like I am superior to others by telling them what they can and can not do with their lives. I feel like voting against gay marriage is voting against agency. Sorry, that's how I feel folks.

I have quite a few friends who have same gender attraction, some have acted on it, some have not. But guess what guys? They are still the same people, they are still some of my best friends whom I love very very much. News flash: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO AGREE WITH THEM TO BE FRIENDS WITH THEM!!!

This bullying thing has gotten completely out of hand. What is terrible is that most of the people doing the bullying come from RELIGIOUS families who teach that being gay is wrong. And maybe it is. But I don't care what you teach your children as long as you are teaching them to love EVERYONE and be nice to EVERYONE! Whatever happened to "What would Jesus do?" Maybe it is time we ask ourselves this question once again.

Last week at stake conference my stake president said, "I think this world has replaced love with tolerance." I couldn't agree more. We no longer love our neighbors. We tolerate them.

It's late. I need to be in bed right now, but the pull to write is stronger than the pull of my night time meds, so .... here I am. T...
